Manic Type™

Manic Type™ was founded upon a deep love and fascination for letters and the spirits they embody. We design high quality typefaces that explore the intersections of form, texture, and the expression of letters and identity. We believe that by understanding how we perceive our visual languages, we can shape our own.

Manic Type is a new independent type design studio based in Toronto, Canada. We offer type design, lettering, logo design and other type related services. Founded in 2022 by Jamie Chang, a type designer from Toronto, Canada. He holds a MA in Type Design from the KABK (The Royal Academy of Art) in The Hague, and has previously worked for Canada Type, and The Northern Block. He currently teaches at OCAD University, and online at Type Electives. Manic Type is also a foundry partner at Type Network and Future Fonts.
